FR SPECIALTY MATERIAL SOURCING & REVIEW · SEW-ON & HEAT-TRANSFER

Only one supplier for your FR specialty material? Confirm you have a verified alternative.

Talk to us when lead times are unstable, one supplier carries too much risk, price or MOQ no longer fits, quality or documents are incomplete, a material is changing or being discontinued, or a new product needs another option. Interplat reviews a candidate alternative—a second source—against your actual product and process, and coordinates evidence review through to quotation and trial order.

Candidate availability, evidence, suitability and commercial terms are confirmed case by case.

For technical, product, quality and sourcing teams in manufacturing.

Connecting markets. Bridging people. Creating value.

Interplat provides a Qualification-to-Order Workflow so manufacturers can select, verify, apply and transact functional safety and specialty materials faster and more accurately.

THE PROBLEM

A material review usually starts with a specific supply or quality problem.

01

Supply stability

Lead times are unstable, dependence on one supplier is too high, or a material may be changed or discontinued.

02

Price & commercial terms

Price, MOQ or order terms no longer fit your product plan.

03

Quality, evidence & new development

Quality or supporting documents are incomplete, or a new product needs a material matched to its actual substrate, process and wash conditions.

INTERPLAT WORKFLOW

A structured path from application requirements to a documented qualification decision—and, where you approve, a trial order.

Interplat uses internal automation to structure requests, maintain evidence fields and track open items. People remain accountable for candidate selection, evidence interpretation, trial scope, commercial terms and every external product or compliance statement.

  1. 01

    Define the real application

End use, target market, standard, garment construction, substrate, wash, process, timing and volume.

  2. 02

    Build an evidence-and-gap register

We record the candidate product identifier, document revision, stated scope, source, known limitations and missing evidence. Unverified supplier statements remain marked as unverified.

  3. 03

Agree and coordinate a scoped real-system trial

We document the proposed substrate, process conditions, evaluation criteria, responsibilities and available control material. Testing and approval remain with the customer and relevant qualified parties.

  4. 04

    Coordinate the commercial handoff

If the customer accepts the result, Interplat coordinates the quotation, trial-order route, supplier onboarding information, traceability requirements and change-notice responsibilities.

HOW WE EVALUATE

Before any recommendation, we check total landed cost, evidence quality and supply risk—not price alone.

This review is run by Interplat's team, not an automated tool. People remain accountable for every cost calculation, evidence label and tariff-related statement before it reaches you.

COST

Total landed cost, not list price

We add freight and insurance, duties and tariffs, customs and handling, and domestic logistics to the material price so comparisons reflect what actually lands at your dock.

EVIDENCE

Evidence status, labeled

Every document and claim is marked confirmed, supplier-stated and unverified, missing or expired—so you always know what has actually been checked.

TARIFF

Tariff exposure flagged early—never finalized by us

We flag likely HS classification and duty exposure as an early signal only. Interplat does not finalize tariff classification; confirm the final HS code and duty treatment with a licensed customs broker before ordering.

POSSIBLE REVIEW OUTCOMES

Needs more dataKey application, volume or document details are still missing before a candidate can be assessed.
Ready for RFQEnough is confirmed to request a formal quotation from the candidate supply source.
Needs documentsA specific test report, certificate or specification is required before the review can continue.
Needs an evaluation planThe application requires a defined trial or test plan before any recommendation is made.
Ready for a trial orderEvidence and terms support moving to a scoped, limited-quantity trial order.
On holdThe opportunity is paused pending a customer decision, timeline change or new information.
Not a fit right nowAvailable evidence does not support a viable match for this application at this time.

CURRENT TEST SCOPE

Two FR specialty-material qualification tracks—and the record you get along the way.

TEST TRACK 01

FR sew-on specialty material

For protective-workwear end uses where sewing construction, laundering, traceability and finished-garment approval matter.

TEST TRACK 02

FR heat-transfer specialty material

For end uses requiring a defined substrate and process window for heat, pressure, time, adhesion and wash durability.

POSSIBLE NEXT SCOPE

Adjacent safety and specialty materials

The same evidence-to-trial workflow may later extend to adjacent material categories. No additional category is currently presented as an available or qualified supply program.

WHAT THE PROCESS PRODUCES

Evidence & Gap RegisterAvailable documents, exact scope limits, revisions and missing evidence, separated clearly.
Qualification PlanApplication, substrate and process conditions and evaluation criteria, agreed before trial work begins.
Decision RecordResults, unresolved risks and the agreed next step—quote, trial order or stop.

Illustrative structure. Product-specific evidence and suitability are confirmed only after intake and exact-document review.

ABOUT INTERPLAT

Connecting markets. Bridging people. Creating value.

Interplat provides a Qualification-to-Order Workflow so manufacturers can select, verify, apply and transact functional safety and specialty materials faster and more accurately.

Interplat's founder previously worked in cross-border industrial M&A, restructuring and technical/commercial due diligence—reviewing transactions for Korean manufacturers, global private equity sponsors and multinationals across industrials, automotive, energy, semiconductor and consumer sectors. That same discipline—verify before you claim, document before you decide—shapes how Interplat runs material qualification.

BEFORE YOU START

Clear boundaries before qualification work begins.

The intake screen does not authorize paid work, disclose your files to a supplier or commit either party to supply.

Are you a testing laboratory or certification body?

No. Interplat structures evidence and qualification work, but product and compliance decisions require exact-document review, relevant testing and human approval for the intended end use.

Can I request a free sample first?

Not as the first step. A sample is considered only after application fit, available evidence, commercial intent and a controlled qualification scope are confirmed.

Is there a fee for the qualification work?

No separate consulting fee. Interplat's work is coordinated as part of the resulting supply relationship—compensation comes from the commercial transaction itself, not from billing you for qualification hours. If a request needs paid third-party lab testing or certification, that scope and cost is agreed with you in writing beforehand.

Will my technical information be shared with suppliers?

Not without an agreed disclosure scope. Do not send confidential files at intake; a secure path and appropriate confidentiality terms can be arranged if needed.

Do I need to replace my current supplier?

No. A second-source qualification can be evaluated alongside an incumbent control without committing to a supply change. A documented stop decision is also a valid outcome.

APPLICATION FIT CHECK

Start with a 2-minute application fit check.

Tell us enough to decide whether your request fits the current test scope. This is not a sample order, product recommendation or compliance approval.

Do not include confidential drawings, formulations, personal identification data or export-controlled technical information. If files are needed, Interplat will first agree a secure channel and disclosure scope.

  1. 1 — Intake screenWe check current-scope fit, evidence availability and commercial intent. No recommendation, opinion or sample is issued.
  2. 2 — Qualification proposalIf it's a fit, we propose the scope—deliverables, responsibilities and timing. There is no separate qualification fee; Interplat is compensated through the resulting commercial relationship, not a consulting invoice.
  3. 3 — Trial to orderOnly after written scope approval do we coordinate evidence review, the real-system trial, quotation and trial-order route.
What happens next

Interplat responds with one of three outcomes: not currently in scope, questions needed, or a proposed qualification scope with deliverables, responsibilities and timing.

Add technical details if available
